China South-to-North Water Diversion Group held its founding ceremony today in Beijing. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said that the founding of the group is an important measure to improve management in China's South-to-North water diversion project and optimize the country's water allocation resources.
Premier Li said that the group should continue to push the orderly advancement of the water diversion project under the guidelines of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, and contribute to the country's water safety and environmental protection goals.
The South-to-North Water Diversion Project is by far the world's largest water diversion project and has served as a lifeline for water supply in northern China for the past few years.
