The Chinese people have never forgotten the contributions made by the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) army and other individuals to the victory of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953), Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Friday.

Xi made the remarks during a speech at an event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the CPV army entering the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) at the height of the war.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, said that although 70 years have passed since the beginning of the war, the Chinese people have never forgotten the immortal achievements made by predecessors of the revolution in upholding international justice and safeguarding global peace.
