Regardless of what the future holds, China should continue to remain fearless in the face of brute force, said Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks when speaking at an event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
In his speech, Xi stressed that the success of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) army had won peace and also respect for their bravery.
We should carry on the spirit of unity, which helped CPV army defy the U.S. aggression, said Xi.
In a war where the enemy was strong and fierce, CPV officers and men risked their lives in bloody battles to ensure victory, said Xi, adding that the Chinese people should continue to emulate their bravery in facing the uncertain future.
The CPV's flexible strategy and tactics helped them defeat the enemy armed with advanced weapons, said Xi. And with such a national wisdom for both innovation and forging ahead, we Chinese people can fight our way out whenever facing various challenges and difficulties, Xi added.
