CGTN

Vast fields of reed are blooming around Bosten Lake, the largest inland freshwater lake in China located in the northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Reeds are important in the wetland ecosystem, regulating water quality and offering natural habitat for animals.

In human history, it has been used for multiple purposes, like making paper, pens and even houses.
