Odell Beckham Jr., the Pro-Bowl wide receiver of the Cleveland Browns may have to say goodbye to the rest of the season after he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee on Sunday. Beckham underwent an MRI on Monday, which confirmed his injury.

In the game, the Browns defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 37-34. Browns' quarterback Baker Mayfield's pass was intercepted by Bengals' cornerback Darius Phillips. Beckham suffered the injury when he was chasing Philips.

Thanks to the victory on Sunday, the Browns raised their record to 5-2, not too far away from the Baltimore Ravens (5-1) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-0) above them in the American Football Conference (AFC) North. However, Beckham's injury threw a gloom over the Brown's future this season.

"Obviously it's a big loss. He's a huge part of what we do. So now we'll just have to huddle up, and find some different ways and find some different people and put them in that role," said Kevin Stefanski, head coach of the team. "You never replace a player of Odell's caliber with one player. It's going to take multiple guys. That's the challenge we have and I think our guys will be up to the challenge."

"I'm probably going to beat myself up about that one for a long time. He's a guy who fights for this team, and in doing that, he got hurt. ... it sucks," said Mayfield who felt guilty for his underthrow that led to Beckham's injury.

According to Mayfield, Beckham told him "to be great" during the halftime. The encouragement worked as Mayfield bounced back from in the second half to 21 passes that led to five touchdowns, including three go-ahead ones.

Beckham has been haunted by injuries since he was traded to the Browns from the New York Giants in March 2019. He suffered a hip and groin injury at training camp last year and carried it through the season to achieve over 1,000 yards receiving. This season, Beckham caught 23 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns.
