Chinese mainland reports 50 new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland on Monday registered 50 new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases, 26 of whom were identified in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and 24 others from overseas, the National Health Commission announced on Tuesday.

Sixteen new COVID-19 cases were also registered on Monday, all from overseas.

No deaths related to the disease were reported on Sunday, and 17 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals, the commission said. A total of 570 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

The total confirmed infections in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 5,303 (5,050 recoveries, 105 deaths)

Macao: 46 (46 recoveries)

Taiwan: 550 (502 recoveries, 7 deaths)
