More than 1,000 suggestions from ordinary Chinese people were sorted out and included in the 14th Five-Year Plan after authorities solicited opinions on the internet between August 16 and August 29, Han Wenxiu, deputy director of the office of the Central Commission for Financial and Economic Affairs, said during a press conference to introduce the guiding principles of the fifth plenary session and the communique on Friday.

Han said this was a first time in history when drafting documents for the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee plenary session.

Under the guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping, the drafting of the 14th Five-Year Plan integrated social anticipation, ordinary people's opinions and experts' suggestions, Han said. 

The drafting of the 14th Five-year Plan is a guiding principle for the country's economic and social development in the future, he added.
