Latest COVID-19 development around the world
Russia reported 18,140 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, taking the national caseload to 1,618,116 since the pandemic began. Authorities also reported 334 deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 27,990.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany increased by 19,059 to 518,753, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases data showed on Saturday. It was a new record for the country's daily increase.
Ukraine on Saturday also registered a record 8,752 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. Its total infections stood at 387,481 for now.

In the UK, local media say British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is considering imposing new national lockdown measures from next week amid concerns that hospitals across the country are being overwhelmed by a resurgence in coronavirus cases.
Indonesia reported 3,143 new coronavirus infections on Saturday, taking the country's total number of cases to 410,088 and its death toll increased by 87 to 13,869. The country's COVID-19 cases and deaths are now the highest in Southeast Asia.
The Philippines on Saturday recorded 1,803 new coronavirus infections and 36 more deaths. Its total confirmed cases have increased to 380,729, while deaths have reached 7,221. The country has the second-highest number of COVID-19 infections and deaths in Southeast Asia.
