The Bund, located along the Huangpu River, is a waterfront area in east China's Shanghai. To the west of the Bund are historical buildings with various architectural styles, including gothic, baroque and neoclassical. Across the river from the Bund, Pudong's Lujiazui is home to Shanghai's iconic Oriental Pearl Radio and TV Tower, Shanghai Jinmao Tower, Shanghai Tower and Shanghai World Financial Center, which have become symbols of China's reform and opening-up and the epitome of Shanghai's modernization. Preparations for the third China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai are in full swing, and a spectacular light show is in rehearsal, which will be staged on both sides of the Huangpu River at the opening ceremony of the CIIE.
