Fire at under-construction LNG terminal kills 6 in S China

At least six people were killed, three severely injured and one person is missing after a fire broke out at a construction site for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Tieshangang District, Beihai City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, local authorities said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. on Monday in the LNG terminal of Tieshan Port, operated by a company under China Oil & Gas Piping Network Corporation (PipeChina), according to the local publicity bureau.

The fire has been extinguished and search and rescue operations are underway.
