U.S. stocks open higher in Election Day session
On Tuesday, U.S. stocks opened on a high note as Americans headed to the polls for the presidential election.
Shortly after the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at 27,251.58, up 1.2 percent.
The broad-based S&P 500 gained 1.0 percent to 3,342.33, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index climbed 0.7 percent to 11,035.54.
