Austrian Chancellor calls for European response as probe continues into deadly attack

Updated 2020.11.04 22:05 GMT+8

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has called for a European response to "political Islam," after the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for a shooting spree in Austria that killed four people. The Islamic State group called the gunman a follower, releasing a picture and video purporting to show him. Police shot and killed the attacker on Monday, later identified as 20-year-old Kujtim Fejzulai, a dual citizen of Austria and North Macedonia. Vienna raised the security level with a reinforced police presence.
