Eight missing after suspected gas outburst in NW China

Eight miners are missing and 34 others have been rescued after a suspected gas outburst in northwest China's Shaanxi Province on Wednesday afternoon, reported Xinhua News Agency citing local authorities. 

The incident happened at around 1 p.m. at a coal mine in Tongchuan City, when a total of 42 workers were working underground. 

An emergency response has been activated and rescue work and investigation are underway.
