The 2020 Cup of China, the International Skating Union's (ISU) figure skating Grand Prix event, officially kicked off Friday afternoon at Huaxi Culture and Sports Center in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.

A total of 27 Chinese skaters, including two-time world bronze medalist Jin Boyang and two-time Four Continents medalists Peng Cheng/Jin Yang will compete in their respective competing categories: the Men's event, the Ladies event, the Paris event, and the Ice Dance event over the next three competition days.

Lucky to remain on the calendar, this year's Shiseido Cup of China is the first and will be the only event for ISU to stage in China this year.
