A new batch of pilots for China's aircraft carrier-based J-15 fighter jets recently passed a stringent qualification test.

They received training under a new model developed by the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy. The new J-15 pilot recruits – the largest number ever – were admitted directly from high school. They are also the youngest ever – all in their 20s – and completed the qualification process in record time.
