Lindsey Graham, chairman of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, on Saturday said he will investigate allegations of voting irregularities and misconduct during the U.S. presidential election, after receiving a sworn affidavit from a postal worker in Pennsylvania that alleged "a plan to backdate ballots mailed after the election."

"It is imperative that all credible allegations of voting irregularities and misconduct be investigated to ensure the integrity of the 2020 elections," Graham said in a press release.

Graham stated that he will be calling on the Department of Justice to investigate these claims, and contact the Postmaster General to look into the allegations.

His statement came less than two hours after the Associated Press and TV networks projected Joe Biden would win the presidential race.

On Saturday, Ellen Weintraub, commissioner of the Federal Election Commission, told CNN that there was "no evidence of fraud" in the election.
