Forty-eight new general aviation (GA) airports will be built by 2023 in south China's Guangdong Province. By 2035, the GA airports in the province will total 57, covering all Guangdong counties.
Currently, there are nine GA airports in Guangdong, with 45 GA companies. And Guangdong's GA airports mainly focus on flights to offshore oil operation facilities and business services, with a rather unitary functional structure. According to the new plan, the density of GA airports is expected to reach 3.2 for every 10,000 square kilometers.
