Transparent masks to curb the learning barrier among disabled people

Updated 2020.11.09 15:10 GMT+8

The city of Izmir, Turkey, launched the "transparent mask project" in July to help people with disabilities communicate better. The city so far has produced 25,000 transparent masks and provided them free of charge to those in need.

Students and volunteer teachers wear transparent masks at the Education and Training Center for Children with Disabilities, allowing them to see their teachers' lips and expressions to make the learning experience easier. The effectiveness of the masks has yet to be proven.
