The Center for Disease Control and Prevention in north China's Tianjin Municipality has tracked the strain of the latest confirmed COVID-19 case on Sunday.

The genomic sequence analysis showed that the genotype of the coronavirus is highly similar to that of the strains that circulated in North America between March and June, Tianjin authorities said on Tuesday.

A worker at a cold storage facility in the port city tested positive on Sunday for the virus.
