Located in Yanling County, Hunan Province, Central China, Pingle Village has changed considerably over the years. Huang Aiping, a villager, said a family's annual income has gone from 2,000 yuan (around $300) to 50,000 yuan (around $7,400). Five years ago, he worked in Shenzhen, but he returned to the village and has been growing yellow peaches ever since. After years of effort in poverty alleviation, villagers' incomes have increased dramatically, lifting them out of poverty. Life is getting better, a villager named Dai Xiuli said.
