The novel coronavirus was detected on outer packaging of frozen food in Quanzhou City, southeast China's Fujian Province.
All frozen products will be tested for the virus, local authorities said. This comes after a confirmed case of COVID-19 was linked to frozen food in north China's Tianjin Municipality on Thursday.
According to authorities, out of 2,549 relevant products, the outer packaging of four products tested positive for the coronavirus in the wee hours of Friday, adding that the batch of goods was sealed off.
Forty-four people who had been in contact with the products tested negative, while 31 environment samples from the warehouse also came out negative.
Later on Friday, Lanzhou City in northwest China's Gansu Province also reported the discovery of the novel coronavirus on the inner packaging of frozen products which had come from Tianjin port during routine check.
