China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Saturday reported eight new confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to the Centre for Health Protection (CHP).

Three of the new cases were locally-transmitted, while the other five were from overseas, the CHP said.

The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in the city since January stands at 5,444.
