Gansu Province, located in northwest China, is a landlocked province. Its land-forms are complex and diverse, including mountains, plateaus, plains, river valleys and deserts. There are many mountains in Gansu Province, such as the Qilian Mountains. The mountains and hills account for about 78 percent of the total land area in Gansu.
