The United States reported 180,705 new COVID-19 cases Friday, a record daily increase since the onset of the pandemic in the country, according to the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University.
A total of 939 new deaths from the coronavirus were recorded nationwide on Friday, bringing the country's death toll from the coronavirus to over 243,000.
