The risk level of COVID-19 will be downgraded from medium to low in another area in Shufu County, Kashgar Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, starting Monday, local officials announced.
Authorities on Sunday lowered the risk level in four other towns and villages in Shufu County.
The decision to downgrade the alert was based on the region's current pandemic situation, officials said.
Shufu County was at the center of a small regional outbreak of COVID-19 last month.
As of Saturday, Xinjiang had 25 confirmed and 187 asymptomatic cases of COVID-19.
