The COVID-19 risk level will be downgraded from high to low in two townships in Shufu County, Kashgar Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, starting Tuesday, local officials have announced.

Authorities on Sunday lowered the risk level in five other towns and villages in Shufu County, which was at the center of a small regional outbreak of COVID-19 last month.
