Hong Kong police on Wednesday confirmed that they had arrested three former opposition lawmakers – Hui Chi-fung, Chan Chi-chuen and Chu Hoi-dick – on suspicion of disrupting order in the Legislative Council (LegCo).

The police said the trio were held in connection with the splashing of foul-smelling liquids in the LegCo that interrupted a meeting of the legislature. 

An investigation is underway.
