Updated 2020.11.18 20:59 GMT+8

The Federal Aviation Administration Wednesday gave approval for the Boeing 737 Max to carry passengers again, ending the jet's 20-month grounding, according to local media.

The aircraft was grounded for a record 20 months in March 2019 after two fatal crashed killed 346 people.

The FAA will detail software upgrades and training changes Boeing must make in order for it to resume commercial flights.
