Professor Zhang Yuejiao is the first Chinese national to serve as a legal adviser to the World Bank, the first Chinese director of the European Bureau of the Asian Development Bank, the first Chinese director of the West African Development Bank, and the first Chinese judge of the Appellate Body of the WTO. She has been active in various international institutions for several decades, and her work has involved building infrastructure and solving problems both in China and abroad.
