China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) will suspend face-to-face classes for Grade 1 to Grade 3 primary school students from Monday for two weeks amid concerns of a fourth wave of COVID-19 infections, health authorities announced on Friday.

Kindergartens will continue to remain closed until December 6, Sophia Chan, Secretary for Food and Health, told a press briefing.

Chan said 26 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Friday, with 21 of them domestically transmitted. Seven of these cases are of unknown origin.
