The Yi people are celebrating their traditional New Year, which usually falls on November 20 each year and lasts for three days.

In the Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China's Sichuan Province, one of the largest habitats for the Yi people, the festival this year is special, as the whole region was just delisted from the country's poverty list several days ago, and many people are enjoying family reunions in their new homes.
