At least eight people were wounded after shots were fired on Friday in a mall in Wauwatosa City, part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, according to media reports citing the city's mayor.

None of the victims' injuries appeared to be life-threatening, Wauwatosa's mayor Dennis McBride said in a statement, adding that "the perpetrator is at large at this time". 

The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. local time.
