As of 6:00 p.m. BJT on Saturday, over 1,030,000 people in Binhai New Area, north China's Tianjin Municipality, underwent nucleic acid test for COVID-19, according to local authorities.

On Saturday, Tianjin reported one new locally-transmitted COVID-19 case.

On Friday, it reported five such cases, with four from the Kanhaixuan residential community where an asymptomatic carrier had been found earlier. The community was classified as a high-risk area for COVID-19 starting from 2:00 a.m. Friday.

The fifth case, a 52-year-old man, is a close contact of the personnel exposed to a cold storage facility in Dongli District, where a fish product was found to have traces of the virus.

The man was diagnosed and confirmed later Friday as the 145th locally-transmitted case when he was being quarantined in a hotel in the Binhai New Area.
