Shanghai reported two new domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases on Sunday, both were close contacts with previous confirmed cases, local health officials said.

A residential community in the city's Pudong district, where the two patients reside, has been listed as medium-risk COVID-19 transmission area.

52 people who came into close contact with the two cases have been traced and are being tested for the coronavirus. An epidemiological investigation is also underway.
