Three stone sculptures of silkworm cocoons have been discovered at an excavation site in Shicun, a village in Xiaxian County in north China's Shanxi Province. Archaeologists say the sculptures were created over 6,000 years ago and are among the oldest of their kind in China. One of them, made of granite, is the size of a date kernel and has exquisite striped patterns carved into it.
