Already the country with the most electric vehicle charging stations in the world – over 1.2 million in 2019 – China is looking to add around 600,000 more, thanks to an infrastructure stimulus package announced by the government in March. But many in China see charging infrastructure, rather than vehicle economics, as the bottleneck to be overcome in encouraging people to switch to EVs.
