Indian police have clashed with several thousand farmers marching to New Delhi against agricultural reforms. The confrontation took place when police tried to stop the angry crowds from the northern state of Punjab entering the capital. Legislation passed earlier this year abolishes fixed rates at state-controlled markets. Farmers say that leaves them at the mercy of large corporations.
