Wild golden snub-nosed monkey calmly approaches startled ranger

A group of rangers could not contain their excitement when they spotted a wild golden snub-nosed monkey for the first time in their lives on Saturday, in a forest zone located in Baoji City of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

The hungry monkey sitting on a tree soon climbed down when a carrot in one ranger's hand got its attention.

The ranger said that while he was a bit scared as the big animal clambered towards him, the monkey looked very calm.

Phone videos taken on the spot show the ranger playing a trick on the monkey, holding back the carrot several times before handing it over.
