The novel coronavirus was detected on three packages of imported products during a routine examination in Wuhan City, central China's Hubei Province, local officials said on Saturday.

Two packages of imported Brazilian beef flank and one with basa fish from Vietnam tested positive for the virus on Friday, the officials said.

The goods, weighing a total of over 112 tones, arrived in Wuhan in September, and none have entered the market so far.

The authorities ordered disinfection for two containers for shipping those products, as well as nearby areas.

Officials said people and surfaces that may have had contact with the shipments have all tested negative.
