Indian-controlled Kashmir is holding elections for the first time since turning into a federal territory last year. The District Development Council polls are being held in eight phases and will end on December 19. Vote counting will be on December 22. Precautionary measures have been taken as voters cast their ballots amid the coronavirus pandemic.
