A rare white Galapagos penguin (Spheniscus mendiculus) discovered in Punta Vicente Roca, north of Isabela Island, Galapagos, Ecuador is captured in a November 19 photo released by the Galapagos National Park.

This penguin's white color is likely the result of a form of leucistic pigmentation that caused the loss of feather colors. The condition differs from albinism in that when the bird is suffering from leucism its eyes and beak are normal in color.
