13 workers trapped in central China's Hunan after mine flooding

A total of 13 people were trapped underground in a flooded coal mine in central China's Hunan Province, according to authorities on Sunday.

The accident took place at noon in a coal mine in Daozi Township of Leiyang City on Sunday. A total of 15 people were working in the coal mine when the accident happened and two people managed to escape.

After the accident, the Ministry of Emergency Management has sent a working group and experts to the scene to guide the rescue.

Local authorities have mobilized three mine rescue teams, a total of more than 60 people, four drainage pumps to carry out the rescue, the local fire rescue team sent eight vehicles, and 37 people rushed to the scene.

Rescue efforts are still underway.
