Guozigou Valley in the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, was named after the diverse wild fruit trees on mountain slopes.
Now, it's covered in snow. In spring and summer, the rugged valley would become a charming and iridescent wonderland. The valley has long been regarded as a strategic pass connecting China and Central Asia.
