Chang'e-5 probe's lander-ascender combination separated from its orbiter-returner combination at 4:40 a.m. BJT on Monday, according to an announcement from the China National Space Administration. The lander-ascender combination will execute a soft landing on the moon to collect the country's first samples from an extraterrestrial body.
