The Chinese mainland on Sunday registered 18 new COVID-19 cases, three domestically transmitted cases in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and 15 from overseas, announced the National Health Commission on Monday.

A total of 17 new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases were also recorded, while 281 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation. No COVID-19-related deaths were reported on Sunday, and 21 patients were discharged from hospitals.

As of Sunday, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 86,530, with 4,634 fatalities.

The total confirmed infections in the Hong Kong and Macao SARs and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 6,238 (5,340 recoveries, 109 deaths)

Macao: 46 (46 recoveries)

Taiwan: 651 (565 recoveries, seven deaths)
