China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Monday reported 76 new COVID-19 cases, mainly domestically transmitted, Chief Executive Carrie Lam said at a press conference, adding that the source of nine infections could not be traced.

Eighty-seven new cases were reported on average daily between November 23 and 29, 90 percent of which were local cases, Lam said.

The number of cases related to a cluster linked to dance venues has increased to 519, Lam added.

The HKSAR government announced a series of anti-pandemic measures that will come into effect on Wednesday. Apart from emergency services, civil servants will work from home, restaurants will close at 10 p.m., group gatherings will be limited to two people, and some business premises, game centers, playgrounds, work and recreation areas, and swimming pools will be closed.

Lam called on the public to cooperate with the government in implementing the control measures, and a hotline was set up for the public to report violations. People who violate the measures would be severely dealt with in accordance with the law.
