Australian scientists have discovered 1 million new galaxies and mapped another 2 million in record time with a powerful new telescope – the Australian Square Kilometer Array Pathfinder (ASKAP). The telescope has a wide field of view with specialty receivers that take panoramic pictures of the sky in greater detail than before, opening the way to new cosmic discoveries.
