The novel coronavirus was found on the packaging of imported frozen pork during a routine examination of a market in Yuhuan City, Zhejiang Province, local officials said on Thursday.

The batch of pork was imported from Brazil via the Port of Shanghai. The goods arrived in China on September 28, officials said.

Disinfection and testing of relevant people and the environment have been ordered, with no positive cases of the infection so far.

China has stepped up inspection measures on imported frozen products.
