Manzhouli, a border city in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, reported one locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 case in the past day, the regional health commission said Thursday. 

An asymptomatic case and a suspected case were also reported between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, the commission said. 

Manzhouli now has 21 locally-transmitted confirmed cases, two asymptomatic cases and two suspected cases – all receiving treatment at designated hospitals in the city. Epidemiological surveys and source tracing work regarding the cases are underway, with a total of 1,082 close contacts put under quarantine.
