The White House communications director Alyssa Farah resigned on Thursday.

Farah, 31, said in a resignation letter obtained by U.S. media outlets that she's "leaving the White House to pursue new opportunities." In the letter, she also called her tenure in the Trump administration "the honor of a lifetime."

She started working for Vice President Mike Pence in 2017 for a duration of two years, after which she transitioned to the role of spokeswoman for Pentagon – the youngest-ever woman holding that position. In April 2020, she returned to the White House as director of strategic communications, a senior position responsible for crafting and promoting the message and agenda of the administration.

According to Washington Post, her last day at the White House is on Friday, and she reportedly plans to start a consulting firm focusing on the corporate, political and defense realms.

Many say Farah's exit at this time indicates that the administration of President Donald Trump will soon come to an end, although the incumbent president still refuses to publicly concede his election loss to Joe Biden.

The U.S. State Department began the presidential transition process days ago, yet Trump said on his personal Twitter handle that he "will never concede to fake ballots & 'Dominion'."

Prague-based political analyst Bradley Blankenship said that Trump may have "much acknowledged" his defeat "privately".

"He's looking for ways to make money and stay relevant – paid speeches to corporate groups, holding rallies, eyeing his own media company and writing a memoir about his time in office," Blankenship wrote in an opinion piece for CGTN.
